What Customers Say About DEWALT DW0736 5/8-Inch 11-Threaded Flat Head Tripod:

Works better than the original go-to controller tripod and adjusts very easily. I attached an 11-lbs Celestron C130 telescope on it with an iOptron go-to controller. The total weight is at least 13 lbs. Put 3 small and cheap level indicators on each leg to level the tripod and you have a very nice piece of equipment for a good price. I am happy with it and the whole setup looks very professional.

My laser is a cheaper mass market unit and I did need the thread adapter (5 extra bucks). The legs only need to be in the ballpark which takes between 20-30 seconds. I been using a camara tripod but they are not very rugged and I was tired of babying it. So I got a deal on this unit even though I'm not Dewalts biggest fan.Super super stuff. Even my cheap laser has over 2 feet of adjustment. If you can't eyeball within 2 feet then either more money needs to be spent (30 dollar Kraftsman in my case) or hire it done.

I bought this as an accessory for my Dewalt rotary laser to use in setting forms for concrete slabs. This is a well built tripod and the price was good. I priced another brand that was at Home Depot and it was flimsy and cost a few dollars more. I ordered this one from Amazon and was quite pleased with it.

I just got my own after using my boss' for two years. This tripod works perfect with every laser I've used. For those who don't know how to use a laser it would be a pain to adjust the laser beam up and down and up and down.trying to get the laser in a certain spot. The tripod holds the laser securely and it does a great job. Mine has a little too much grease on the leg clamps and releases if I am not careful. I'm sure that will correct itself when the excess grease is gone.

and I managed to get it "pretty close". Good luck using it to mount a bench 40 inches above the ground in your garage.

It has 3 legs. That's all. If you're looking for a tripod, this is it.

If your laser level is too high or low, you're forced into tediously moving each leg, trying to keep it somewhat level as you go, until it's "pretty close". You can't adjust the height with any accuracy.

A simple elevator crank would've made the thing worth the money, but as it stands, all it does is stand. I spent 40 minutes trying to get it just right.

After all that work to get it to the correct height, I'm going to use it to level my bench, then return the thing and buy a camcorder tripod that gets the job done in a reasonable amount of time.
